Ideal for people with joint and muscle pain. A very powerful anti-inflammatory, this oil is recommended for alleviating rheumatism, arthritis and muscular pain. It is rich in salicylic acid, having an important analgesic effect.
It is ideal for relieving muscle cramps in athletes; the oils work very well for messages which relax the cramp. It is also useful, combined with other oils, for fighting cellulite.
Wintergreen Essential Oil is extracted from a shrub called “Gaultheria procumbens”. It contains an essential oil called “wintergreen essence” (0.5-0.8%), gaultheria.
Monotropitocide (gaultherin) is hydrolyzed by the bacteria flora, giving rise to methyl salicylate, an anti-inflammatory, pain reliever, antipyretic and anticoagulant; The abutin has a urinary antiseptic effect. The essential oil, when used topically, is a rubefacient. The tannins give it an astringent effect (antidiarrheal, local hemostatic and healing).
