Rose of Jericho also known as Anastatica (from the Greek anastasis: resurrection) is a plant from the desert with great resistance to desiccation. Used in ancient times to predict the weather and attract prosperity to the home.
The Rose of Jericho has the ability to survive long periods of drought. With the lack of water it dries up, contracting and staying closed. When hydrated it comes back to life, that is why it is said to revive. In deserts they are blown away by the wind, spreading their seeds.
How to use:
– Fill a bowl with water and put the dried Jericho rose in it. In a few hours, the plant will begin to open. You have to leave it in the water for three days without changing it. It is normal for this water to become cloudy or appear dirty.
– On the fourth day, you have to remove the rose and rinse the bowl only with water. The rose is also gently rinsed. The bowl is refilled and the rose is put in again for another four days, during which the rose would have to be cleaned and the water changed once a day.
– On the seventh day, the Rose of Jericó will have completed its cleaning and adaptation process to its new environment. From that moment on, you can already enjoy the Rose of Jericho and make requests if you wish.
You can dry it again and go through the “resurrection” process as many times as you like.
The Rose of Jericho also repels flies and eliminates unpleasant odors.
