‘Orange blossom water’ is a transparent, colorless liquid with a typical slightly bitter flavor and a neutral or slightly acid reaction to litmus. It is obtained by distillation in vapor of fresh bitter orange blossoms. It should be stored in a dry, cool place, shielded from light. In time, under influence of light, air and microorganisms, orange blossom water can turn yellowish and viscous with sediments. It should not be used in this condition.
Orange blossom water is most often used for (aromatherapeutic) skin care, as a tonic or aromatic wash. Orange blossom water is slightly astringent, which makes it ideal for greasy skin. It is also often used in acne treatments, as a facial wash. Its perfume is so sweet that you’ll want to use it as often as you can.
Orange blossom essence is very beneficial to skin. It does not sting or irritate so it is perfect to use on any kind of itching, rash, etc. It works wonders on dry skin and on small ruptures of blood vessels.
