A famous plant from the tropics of the Americas known for its aphrodisiac qualities. It has been traditionally used as an enhancer of the sexual organs. It also helps with urine output and in the elimination of urinary bacteria. A tonic for asthenia and stress.
Damiana, or Turnera Aphrodisiaca, is small bush up to two meters tall, with a short stem covered by brown-red bark, with fuzzy, long, pale green or yellow leaves and small, yellow hermaphroditic flowers. Inside the fruit there are seeds which have a bitter, aromatic flavor and are covered by resin which is similar to figs.
Tea – With the leaves one may prepare herbal tea. One tablespoon per cup should be boiled for one minute. Drink three cups per day, before meals.
Precautions
It is not advisable to use when pregnant or lactating.
Nor in state of anxiety and nervousness, and like all stimulants, if one suffers from irritable bowel syndrome.
